We are beginning the 2nd round of recruitment of Co-working Members for the “Japan  Innovation Campus” ( “JIC”), a startup support hub in Silicon Valley, U.S. established by the Japanese Government Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry (METI).

JIC has been established as a base for the activities of Japan-affiliated startups and entrepreneurs, aiming to form a community where startups and stakeholders of the startup ecosystem can gather, share knowledge and mindsets, and accelerate their growth in the US and Globally.

JIC aims to support the endeavors of Japanese startups and entrepreneurs. We look forward to your entries.

■Application Guidelines

Number of Selected Companies    : Approximately 50 companies
Available Period                              : October 1, 2024 – September 30, 2025 (Pacific Time)
Available Hours                               : Weekdays from 8AM to 6PM, Closed on weekends and public holidays
Available Facilities                          : Co-working spaces and open spaces within the facility
Application Deadline                    : July 19, 2024, 11:59 PM (Japan Time)

"Japan Innovation Campus" Co-working Member Application Form

■Eligibility
The target audience for this application are Japan-affiliated startups aiming for global business expansion and scale-up, who will use this facility on a regular basis or example, those who intend to use it once or twice a week, or visit the Silicon Valley area at least once a month can use it according to their work style. However, all the following conditions must be met:

Conditions

  1. The company must be unlisted in both Japan and the United States.
  2. The representative, founder, or co-founder must have Japanese nationality, or the company must be registered with a head office in Japan.
  3. The company must either have already entered the U.S. market or be planning to enter it.
  4. Personnel using the facility must have a visa that permits work in the U.S., a permanent or conditional permanent resident card (Green Card), U.S. citizenship, or have obtained electronic travel authorization through ESTA.
  5. Personnel using the facility must have sufficient English proficiency to participate in pitch events and networking events, which are held primarily in English.
  6. There must be a willingness to contribute to the activities and success of the community centered around this hub through participation in and planning of the above-mentioned events.
  7. At least one of the personnel using the facility must plan to use the facility for approximately 10 days in total during the available period, with a frequency of at least once a month.

(*1) You can apply even if you are in the process of applying for a visa or preparing to apply. However, during the screening process of this recruitment and at the start of using this facility, we may check the status of your visa acquisition.
